Uber Driver’s Watch Out – Uber Now Testing Self-Driving Cars

Uber has officially released a photograph of it's long expected self-driving car on the streets of Pittsburgh. Uber are using a hybrid Ford Fusion to collect both mapping data and assess it's self-driving capabilities. Uber confirmed in a blog post
When it’s in self-driving mode, a trained driver will be in the driver’s seat monitoring operations.
The car will be easy to spot as it has Uber written all over it along with a range of sensors, camera's and radar on its roof. Uber's long expected move comes after google has been testing self-driving cars for some years and represents the next battle lines in both technology and transportation.
Uber chose the Steel City as the home of our Advanced Technologies Center because of its world-class engineering talent and research facilities. Pittsburgh is an ideal environment to develop and test our technology across a wide variety of road types, traffic patterns and weather conditions.
